DESIGN SUMMARY
This publication was designed as a redesign project for The Griff. The Griff is a journalism team at MacEwan. Each year, they allow students in the publication course to create a redesign using past articles and other work as a possible pitch or showcase how the magazine would look with a different designer/perspective.
DESIGN CHALLENGE
This project put me in the position of the designer on the team. With that, I had to think about time management, consistency, and how each page and spread varied across the diverse range of articles. It was also important for me to think about how the magazine's overall design would attract viewers (MacEwan University students).
MAIN GOAL
What will make university students intrigued to pick up this magazine while walking in the halls, taking a break in between classes, or skim through something on campus and create conversations based on the articles provided in the magazine?
This project was featured at MacEwan University's BDes Portfolio Show "Layers" in May 2026. Both the physical mockup & the wall display were presented at the MAG Art Gallery.
