DESIGN SUMMARY
This publication was designed as a redesign project for The Griff. The Griff is a journalism team at MacEwan. This project put me in the position of the designer on the team. With that, I had to think about time management, consistency, and how each page and spread varied across the diverse range of articles. It was also important for me to think about how the magazine’s overall design would attract viewers (MacEwan University students).
My design inspiration for this project came from my own design style. Bright colours, intriguing typefaces, and lots of elements such as textures, blend modes, shapes, and new ways to present the given images for each article. I also wanted this issue to feel exciting, like a concert or a party, as I felt that was a great way to attract university students.
MAIN GOAL
What will make university students intrigued to pick up this magazine while walking in the halls, taking a break in between classes, or skim through something on campus and create conversations based on the articles provided in the magazine?
