DESIGN SUMMARY
Archival fashion is the use of vintage materials and their reuse to evoke a nostalgic, elegant feel. Using textures such as velvet, lace, silk, and more, the model wore all-black to focus on capturing their textures in the light and to ensure the black clothing remained luxurious and sleek within the overall look of the shoot. The teal/blue couch added a pop of colour, helping with contrast and emphasis on texture. The overall goal of this photography project was to capture the beauty of Vogue, showcasing the revival of new fashion trends and the modern yet nostalgic feel that is always on the horizon in fashion through archival pieces. This shoot features portraits in an elegant, fancy apartment building, experimenting with colour, textures, and lighting to create the final editorial look.
MAGAZINE COVER FINAL PHOTOGRAPH
MAIN GOAL
This photography project was a practice in using flash/strobe on location, rather than in a studio or without flash. This project was also a way to see how photography can engage a magazine reader through the variety of articles provided and the connection of imagery with journalism.
