DESIGN SUMMARY
Photo essays are a way to tell stories through imagery. This photo essay is titled “Soft & Sheer”, which showcases the steps of a spring-inspired makeup routine. I wanted to ensure this photoshoot was very elegant and fun, using pops of red and pastel yellows and pinks to highlight the makeup products and, of course, the makeup artist, Mackenzie Andrews.
MAIN GOAL
Mackenzie and I wanted to make this photo essay as a way to brand herself and her career as a makeup artist. As she is heavily involved in the beauty industry and is a hairstylist as well, this essay provided a great opportunity for her to showcase her love of beauty. We wanted to make this shoot very girly, glamorous, and extra, as it displays the kinda of experience Mackenzie provides with her services. The photo essay also showcases a step-by-step makeup routine, helping viewers see the steps it takes to recreate this look.
